Acid Free Paper has a neutral pH which gives the paper archival qualities(500+ years). Paper made from a wood based pulp without the lignin(acid) removed will deteriorate and yellow over time. Removal of the naturally accuring acids found in wood pulp stablizes the paper for very long periods of time. Most paper produced today is acid free.
