Re: What are you listening to?
album of the year = big black delta (worldwide debut album)
brilliant video for the single "side of the road" http://youtu.be/vz8yif7FWDU
stream the new album here (make sure you select a song from the track list below or it might start playing a song by someone else): http://www.spin.com/articles/big-black- ... tream-m83/
so much good stuff going on in that album. "Huggin & Kissin" has a NIN vibe and track "x22" sounds like Death From Above 1979 all with some weird 80s new wave influence that has a completely unique sound.
nothing that could come out between now and december will be as good as this album.

Re: What are you listening to?
Yeah man, the stuff they have released so far sounds awesome. I'm really hoping they do a show or two at smaller venues here in Austin between the first and second weekend of ACL.conartstudio wrote:the new Queens of the Stone Age album is AWESOME:

Steve Mason, Monkey Minds in the Devil's Time. Has a particularly British feel to it. That's the only way I can describe it and I highly recommend it.
Also listening to Daft Punk, Random Access Memories. Not released until next week but already leaked all over the internets.

Do you really love it that much? I love love the EP. I felt that the full length didn't match the power of the EP. Of course the EP songs are on there, but the additional songs just didn't grab me as hard. Side of the road has grown on me, but it wasn't like when I heard any of the songs on the original EP.

Re: What are you listening to?
Most of the album isn't like that. People who buy this thinking it's an album full of club bangers are in for a shock. There is one other Nile Rogers/Pharrell track, Lose Yourself To Dance but the rest of it references some pretty weird sources. Sounds a lot like Prog Rock, The Zapp Band and Herb Alpert.easycraig wrote:- i have been waiting for the daft punk to come out..... love the nile rogers work/production in the get lucky song....

In love with the new Daft Punk. A truly complete album!
Giving Big Black Delta a listen currently. I'm a little behind in music lately, but I just received a pair of 32Ohm Beyerdynamic DT-770s so I need to break em in!

After listening I agree with your sentiments djsp. I really got into 50% of the album the other 50% I began to glaze a bit.djsp wrote:Do you really love it that much? I love love the EP. Just checked out the new Kanye album. I give it two solid thumbs down and would give it more if I had more thumbs. Worst Kanye album ever.

Pure garbage. Only one track that I actually liked, Guilt Trip.spagucci1 wrote:Just checked out the new Kanye album. I give it two solid thumbs down and would give it more if I had more thumbs. Worst Kanye album ever.
I give it 2 Thumbs down and a WTF.
Re: What are you listening to?
All of his albums have definitely been worth checking out, in particular My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. He's taken a left turn on this one though, that's for dayum sure.conartstudio wrote:is there a good Kanye album?spagucci1 wrote:Just checked out the new Kanye album.
