Re: 90s prints on ebay
$3200 for Tank, AP on eBay. Looks like it was stored in a musty garage based on all the foxing which I don't think will come off w/o some level of professional restoration. Regardless, dope.
This was always one that I wanted. Woodcut style that prefaced the more hardline style of future prints. Thought it seemed like this was a style/art test for him in 96 as I can't think of others that are stylized in this way.

Same. I have always longed for this print. But not in that condition.

My search skills suck because I cannot find that print on ebay.

Re: 90s prints on ebay
pulse check... do we feel aps are more or less valuable and why?
i used to belive they are more rare. but them belivered they wer ethe the extra prints in the run that the artist felt wer salvageable and could give them to friends and family or even sell for so beer money. what do you think.
I still prefer nost aps like i prefer pasters

Re: 90s prints on ebay
Personally, I prefer any number in a numbered edition over an AP. I used to feel some allure to APs as somehow special, but I've come to prefer having an official piece from the official edition.

Re: 90s prints on ebay
I like AP's if there is a true variation to the regular run, especially on the early prints. Otherwise I prefer numbers.

And if that Tank is worth anywhere near $3k, what is this one worth

Looking back at that print stack...I regret trading off pre-2000 prints when I moved to Seattle and was poor for things like snowboarding jackets, sample clothing, etc. I do know where several of the prints are and they are still hanging though.jjttdw wrote:Looking back at that print stack...I regret selling the 96 Giant Star.

What do you all think about the paper attached to the back of this print?

Re: 90s prints on ebay
well, it doesn't seem to show through to the front and the image seems undisturbed ... but i wasn't so happy seeing it in those pics. It was part of the reason I chose not to bid on this.
Re: 90s prints on ebay
That print was for sale on eBay last year, I believe bulkhead72 won it and may be able to provide additional details. It must have changed hands recently. I recall the listing last year said it was linen-backed. The seller last year also sold Giant Mustard and Navy 96 with the same linen backing. It doesn't seem too bad visually, but I also am not a huge fan.
Interestingly it auctioned off at around $1200-1500 last year if memory serves. This year's result is much stronger at $2400, which is high given its condition IMO. And this year's auction ships from Canada which in theory might drive away some US buyers, whereas last year's auction shipped from Seattle (again, if memory serves).
The demand for old prints must have gone up? Anyway, great image, would love to have a non linen-backed one some day if I can manage.

It does look like it is sitting atop of some sort of backing, hopeful that it is not dry mounted!obbi wrote:Ugh ... grail ... I dont know why it looks dry mounted. My dictator is lonely without Ming.
Re: 90s prints on ebay
I think it was framed for a while. That looks like a backing board for a cheap frame. I doubt it’s been mounted.

Closed at $4404 . I like this image better than Must/Nav. But for a few folks it seems Must/Nav was a must have.bdavenport wrote:I could see this getting close to $10k.
