Mandela 100 Year Celebration Print

Post by rlbchef »

Was available at an event in DC. Hoping they didn't sell out. Looks like 3 different colorways. From Modern Multiples

What a bizarre website. There is no mention of "who we are", "what we do", or what we are going to do with the proceeds of the sales of the print.

Yes
And unless they come from obey or MM, I'm predicting bad packing and shipping

Have a chance to buy the purple for $1500. On the fence. Love the image, but not sure about color. It is a large format though....

Through who? It’s a good image but for $1500 and large format you better have a place for it otherwise I’d say pass.

Available from folks that put on the event. Sadly, red was for sponsors.

I prefer the purple over red. Looks like a smaller run than normal large formats?

set of 10 printers proofs up for grabs on modern multiples website $1500

tempting, but going to pass. would've pulled the trigger on the red/gold

MM put 2 or 3 at sale price, the rest were at the full price of 1500. I bought earlier in the year, could not pass up the opportunity as I was after it for quite a while

MANDELA by SHEPARD FAIREY Serigraph Edition
31 x 42 inches
Silkscreen / 5 colors & Varnish
Coventry 100% Cotton Rag
Weight 320 gsm
Deckled Edge
Edition Size 300
$1,000

This limited fine art lithographic edition brings together two iconic forces in a new essential artwork – the singular personality of one of the world’s greatest statesmen, Nelson Mandela, and the creative force that is artist Shepard Fairey.

This artwork is the official portrait of the Mandela 100 Centenary, first appearing in a radiance of black, orange, yellow and purple, as a 10 story mural in South Africa. It is noted for its resonance to Fairey's iconic Obama Hope Poster, the image that came to symbolize an historic Presidency.

The edition was produced by master printers in Los Angeles with finest Coventry 100% Rag paper, each sheet weighing nearly 1/3 of a pound. As a technical achievment it demonstrates an artist at the peak of their form. When viewed in situation the impressive scale of the 42" x 31" work becomes clear.

Own a part of the historic Mandela legacy and help support the causes Nelson Mandela championed with a percentage of proceeds goes to the Mandela legacy organizations:

ALL prints, framed and unframed, ship free in the Continental United States in July!

International shipping quotes on request.
