Post your framed large formats here

Post by Ilja »

"Post your framed prints here!" thread: http://forum.thegiant.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1081
"Post your Obey fine art pieces here" thread: http://forum.thegiant.org/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6816

After I bought the Riot Cop large format from Toobs.. I have been looking for good framing ideas. So I have been digging around in the framing thread and came up with the idea that I think it might be nice with a thread only for Obey large format prints (not HPMs and other fine art).

I don't know if it should only to be the ones larger than 24x36 or if the offsets should also be allowed in the thread. I've have included a few because they provide a good example of framing ideas of large prints.

If you have some hanging in your home, please do not hesitate to take a few pictures and throw them up (would be great with something in the picture so you can see the size scale).

I have quotet all the picture messages about large format print I could find (and has swung the ax so my post wouldn't be too long, hope you will bear with me).

Hope you guys are cool with the idea.
Cheers

Just wanted to share my framed prints too. The frames are not as nice as your custom jobs and don't have UV glass since I didn't know it even existed until reading around on this forum but I make do with what I have for now. As you can guess patterns are my favorite! Also sorry in advance for the mess, I'm in the process of deciding where to hang some of them.

That, next to the Dark Wave large format, has to be my favorite.

I have that same wish until I realize that I've had the large format bomber, frame and UV acrylic sitting around my house for the past year and a half.

They were a great price from OG but they cost the same amount to frame and you need a lot of wall space to hang them.

Thank you jjttdw.. I'm happy that could use it, and that people dosn't think it's just one more "unnecessary" thread to add to the deep :)

Thank goodness for something that *might* get us away from the "are they or aren't they fine art" debate that comes up every other time someome posts a LF print on the FA thread.

Here's my LF cream mandalas (also on the framed FA thread)

My large format bomber is framed and on the wall. It was floated on a white mat that was covered in black cloth since no one seems to make an acid free black mat in a gigantic size. Add UV acrylic and it should be there to enjoy for years. Sorry for the glare and crappy pics from the iPad.

Those look spectacular. More importantly I love the interior design of the room, the art fits perfect with everything else.
