Anticipation: Sedation of Millions
SEDATION OF MILLIONS
The “Sedation Of Millions” print is inspired by the title of my favorite Public Enemy album “It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back”. I think the biggest problem in America is the indifference and complacency about important issues that results from much of the population being perpetually hypnotized by conspicuous consumption, social media, entertainment, and self-medication. Using sedation and escapism for relief from the rat race might make us less aware(blissfully ignorant) but also less empowered to improve our role within the rat race… a vicious cycle of cause and effect.

18 x 24″ Screen Print, Signed and Numbered Edition of 450. $45. Limit 1 per person/household.
Release Date: March 13, 2012 at random times throughout the day.

throughout the day? guess thats good.
Re: Anticipation: Sedation of Millions
P.E. inspiration makes me want this print.
Re: Anticipation: Sedation of Millions
Nothing on the horizon? Why is that? Because of the legal issues?
I'm in on this print. Public Enemy reference, solid message, and pretty rad design.

Gonna pass. If someone really wants it and is out of pocket, I will happily act as a proxy for them. I need to keep my f5 skills sharp.
Re: Anticipation: Sedation of Millions
Maybe a bit of homage to Jasper Johns with the target and the number 3? And Public Enemy of course.

Change of plans
Re: Anticipation: Sedation of Millions
Not really for me but I would bet it will still sell out. Would go well with Jasper Johns obviously..

That makes me wonder as well. I'm glad they are testing this out on a less sought after print. I'm still in.summoner wrote:My question is what is up with this?

Re: Anticipation: Sedation of Millions
I don't get it. It looks like the countdown leader before an old movie, and I get the P.E. connection, but this looks like a countdown leader and really nothing else to me.

I'm not big on the image but love the message! How true it is in today's world! I'm curious to see what you all think...I'm tempted to pick it up solely for the message as it speaks numbers.

Don't they already do this typically with the late night/midnight drops?DunDun wrote:I don't get it. It looks like the countdown leader before an old movie, and I get the P.E. connection, but this looks like a countdown leader and really nothing else to me.
Re: Anticipation: Sedation of Millions
I get what they're doing, and it'll probably help traffic as people drop off from F5ing once they score, but I'd still rather the bulk drops...unless "throughout the day" means like 3 drops of 150 at various times throughout the standard window. If they are going to trickle out 20 or so at a time Im concerned that it'll just prolong the misery as those would be gone in a blink.notudon wrote:That makes me wonder as well.
