Re: Drop in the bucket
Yet another piece that should have never been released. Is it me or has Shep started his downword spiral? Most of the pieces released this year are just not good! Maybe getting too big for his own good? Other than Imperial Glory, not much was decent to say the least...just my thoughts...what are yours? I know there are probably some that will buy anything that Shep does but that's not I...there's just a lot of other great art being made out there & others continue to outdo Shep IMO. Comments? Just curious to hear what others think/say...notudon wrote:So... Big Proof, Paul Watson, and Leonard Peltier walk into a Benefit concert.....

I think we forget that Shepard has gotten to the point where these nfp agencies seek him out to bring awareness to their cause. We may not like the image compared to a lot of Shepard's other images but there will certainly be more people purchasing these prints then if some no name artist lent their talents.
Who's got my old stickers?
Re: Drop in the bucket
It's part of the ups and downs. Hopefully we are nearing the bottom of this cycle. It's been well over 4 months since I bought a print from OG.
My hope is that there will be a significant show (think Deitch) in 2012 with a good amount of new work that will spur new prints. Most of the 2011 gallery shows were filled with those similar images we had all seen before. However, there was a good amount of more affordable fine art released this year.

Is it just me, or did the preview change to not have as much text on it? I like it better without the text. Looks like it is gone from the store now.
P.S. Well, now it is showing up again for me...

Re: Drop in the bucket
Exactly. The fact that this print isn't all over the frontpage and being promoted illustrates this point.halopigg wrote:Revolution wrote:Yet another piece that should have never been released. I will go with Drop in the Bucket followed by Watson and Peltier. Big Proof will not sell out in my lifetime.....hence the name Big Proof FOREVER

Re: Drop in the bucket
i agree not his best year but I did like harmony, rise above rebel, peace dove, they live, and most of the large format album cover prints. i just think this means that next year will be really good!

Re: Drop in the bucket
for the wiki - does anyone know if the print mentioned here http://obeygiant.com/headlines/drop-in- ... it-concert is the same as the one that was sold on OG.com? the image at that link has the extra text, so i'm trying to figure out if there was, in fact, a different print sold at the event.
i'm proud to be the shepherd of this herd of sharks.
