EPL: Nobody Likes Us (and we don't care)
Re:
Dude Jozy is the man! With the WC 1 year away, why the hell are him and Freddy not playing in all of these games? Bradley has done ok as manager but he needs to give up on these kitten defensive tactics especially in CONCACAF. We are the power in the region, we should be going into every game looking for a win.Gigantico wrote:Go Jozy!!!
And Bolivia??

Regarding Bolivia - altitude altitude altitude. You could see an even bigger victory for the Argies when Bolivia visits Buenos Aires.

Totally, but it seemed like there was a complete change from the El Salvador game into the T&T game. Was hoping to see them down here (AZ) during the Gold Cup but it looks like the US team will be elsewhere.mksound wrote:Dude Jozy is the man! Regarding the Bolivians, yeah the altitude will kill ya everytime but it's fun seeing a powerhouse get blown out.

Goal of the year? If it isn't, it'll be in the top five.

That's a good one for sure, I'm sure Manure supporters would say Macheda's goal yesterday would rank right up there.admonkey wrote:Goal of the year? If it isn't, it'll be in the top five.

It was a magnificant match and Wolfsburg beat Bayern Munich 5:1! This was the last goal.

Since the late-season implosion by my Gunners, I had to go looking for my fun elsewhere. Here it is: the NPL (Norwegian Premier League-- I had to go digging really, really, really deep for fun...).
Let's call it "a swing and a miss."

Here is a classic howler from 2002/2003 Brummie vs Villa derby.

Enkleman had another howler in the other leg of the derby that year as well...

I was on the road, traveling back from faaaaaar West Texas, so I had to content myself with reading the reporting of the match. This comment sort of stuck in my craw:Gigantico wrote:USA USA USA!!!!!
What a day....
Spain is going to hurt, but wow!
"All of the critics in America who said we were no good after losing to Italy and Brazil, let's see what they say now," Michael Bradley said.
Yeah, Mike? Spoken like a true coach's son. The team advanced on the unlikeliest of mathematical flukes, not on any sort of skill displayed on the pitch against premiere talent (and I say that as a fan of U.S. Soccer). Maybe if the team had played with the same energy against Brazil and managed even one. lousy. goal. we wouldn't have needed you guys to beat up on a FIFA-ranked #40 team. (USA = 14, Brazil = 5, Italy = 4, Egypt = 40, Spain = 1).
The truth is this team, from the coach on down (his son, too), isn't playing up to its ranking (even at #14) and if they keep it up they'll be 1st-round-and-out in the World Cup.
Flukey math formulas or not.
Egypt played a great tournament, nearly tying Brazil and defeating Italy. I thought USA was going to get worked over, whatever Egypt was ranked. But they did what they had to do, and had a full squad thoughout the game, which I'm sure played a part in their sustained energy. (Also, I don't agree with either of the red cards the US received and I think it cost them the Italy game.) It really should have been 5-0, but as a fan of US, you can imagine the car crash-like finishes the US likes to pull off.
Come next year, I'll take an advancement on goal differentials anyday.
