New York Times staff photographer in the 1950's and 1960's. During this time, he took several well-known photographs, including Nixon in Chicago, 1968, Kennedy Motorcade, 1960 and Willie Mays, 1954.

Notable are his series of photos of Professor Albert Einstein, Princeton University, published in the New York Times in 1953. These photos served as the model for 1/4 of the 2003 Shepard Fairey work, Radicals.
