In 2005, the Keep a Breast Foundation worked with numerous artists to create art on casts of women's breasts. Shepard created and stenciled a cast of his wife Amanda, who at the time, was eight months pregnant with their daughter Vivian. Shepard has long been a supporter of the the Keep a Breast Foundation. The casts were auctioned off on eBay in October of 2005, with all proceeds benefitting the Keep a Breast Youth Awareness Program.

"Margaret Kilgallen, one of my favorite artists, died of breast cancer. Both of my Mom's sisters died of breast cancer, and my mom had preventative surgery just in case. I think breasts are lovely and their health, as well as their owner's health, is very important to me. I appreciate both the form and function of breasts, especially since my wife and I had our daughter Vivienne whose health and happiness depends on quality time with boobs. Oh yeah, my happiness depends on quality time with boobs, too. I think it's only fair for me to give back after all that breasts have given me."
