Peel Magazine was started in 2003 as a DIY zine focused on stickers, stencils, and street art. The creators of Peel were inspired to start the magazine by Shepard's posse stickers in New York City. Peel was originally published as a small-format zine and upgraded to a regular-format magazine in 2006.
Shepard was interviewed for Peel #7 (Winter 2007), which features an Obey-style cover. Shortly after the issue's release, a print based on the cover design, Peel, was available for sale at GORILLAmART, Peel's online store.
