Re: Samuel Lowder (FrePrs)

So, watching Suits on USA, and see a black print on the wall in one of the latest shows. Looks like one of Samuel's Camera images. Anyone know if this is the case? I saw a reference to 9 black prints a few posts back. TinManOne?

Re: ANTICIPATION - Paint it Black (Brush) revised

At least 6 fonts in this Biyotch. Fairey so fails as a typographer. The scale of the hand and paintbrush is too big for the size of the paint can. The cufflink is in the wrong position from the angle on the image. IF the cufflink was two-sided, it would be on the lower side of the shirt cuff. Otherw...

Re: old prints with pinholes

Regarding pinholes and corner dings... I asked about this at a major Gallery. The response was once an image is framed you're not to going to see that anyway. Nor do serious art collectors care once a piece on paper is framed. Eventually Sheps market will move past eBay. Obviously severe damage as i...

Re: Shepard Fairey / Obey Auction Discussion

Nico on wood at almost $9200? We've had the discussions on what makes a top tier image. Multiple media represented in the auction for mostly low popularity images makes me wonder what the prices would be for better images on wood, metal & paper. Pace has 2 metals at $10k. The LP cover above sold...

So what would the Seahawks Offense of Shep auctions be? What do these prices for these images mean for prices of top tier images?

Re: BNE Obey Print

The kerning is a joke. None done (for non-designer types, kerning is the letter spacing). I thought Shepard went to school at RISD for graphic design. Guess he's forgotten the fundamentals. Copperplate isn't the modern looking font either. Perhaps it has to do with the org. I actually like the image...

Re: Dave Kinsey

Perhaps I'm just missing the statement he's trying to make with his work. I'm not saying I don't get it, as there are plenty of successful artists out there whose work I really don't get. Kinsey has an incredible talent, part of what I'm saying is his best work is still to come (several others concl...

Re: Dave Kinsey

Guess I'm not so quick on the draw anymore. :-) Obviously, I've been absent for a good while (other endeavors), but as I page through this thread, I realize I've missed a lot of work lately. The comments above about 'so different, so Kinsey' are interesting. His style is very recognizable, but I'm s...

Re: Anticipation: Peace Dove Letterpress Print

Broad fields of color are very difficult to print with letterpress. I wonder how good the ink coverage is on these pieces... but I guess voids will make each piece more unique. I agree with the comment he should sign both sides, I'd be tempted to frame this one backwards. True Deckled edges are part...
